Ministers’ letter steps up the pace of change
Ministers are distributing a letter to local authorities and health services across England calling on them to implement Early Support. The purpose of the letter is to ensure that all families and children that need Early Support benefit from it and that those authorities that have not yet engaged with the programme do so.
It identifies Early Support as the Government’s recommended way of working to achieve integrated service for families and children and as the mainstream approach for the future.
The letter is from the Rt Hon Beverley Hughes, Minister of State for Children, Young People and Families and Ivan Lewis, Minister for Care Services and it says:
"It is vitally important that all local authorities and their partners engage with Early Support and think seriously about how they can develop effective multi-agency working arrangements that will make a real difference to the lives of disabled children and their families."
